Musical Elitism
So I realized the other day that I've become an elitist indie bastard. Then I started wondering exactly why I've become to hate mainstream music so much. The following is a hypothetical rationalization of the origin of this hate.
- 1. A band is popular in mainstream culture.
- 2. Some people who subscribe to this mainstream culture may not have the best judgment or taste.
- 3. Mainstream people are idiots.
- 4. Idiots listen to this band.
- 5. I don't want to be associated with idiots.
- 6. I hate this band.
Alternative 1:
- 1. A band is popular in mainstream culture.
- 2. Some people who subscribe to this mainstream culture may not have the best judgment or taste.
- 3. Mainstream people are idiots.
- 4. Idiots listen to this band.
- 5. Therefore, this band is horrible.
- 6. I hate this band.
Alternative 2:
- 1. A band is popular in mainstream culture.
- 2. Some parts of mainstream culture purely rely on marketing to achieve appeal, and thus profit, and lack substance.
- 3. Mainstream culture has no substance.
- 4. This band has no substance.
- 5. I hate this band.
Fin.

Final Fantasy XIII, Biatch!
Dayamm. Would you look at those graphics. Yup, the news came out two days ago. Microsoft dropped their megaton, announcing that Final Fantasy XIII is no longer a PS3 exclusive; it's coming to 360 as well! Yay. Sony should be worried now, considering such big titles as GTA and FF are being shared with Microsoft now, when they used to be exclusive to Sony. Oh well. They still have some pretty cool stuff like Little Big Planet and Resistance 2.
Anyway, back to FFXIII. All they've released is mostly pre-rendered footage and a little bit of real-time, but what's out there is stunning. The last Final Fantasy game I've played to any extent was FFVIII, and I do anticipate seeing how the series has progressed in the roughly ten years since VIII was released. The main character chick is lookin real badass too. Oh yeah, can't forget Mr. Blond Motorcycle dude too.
Anyway, here's a trailer for the game in case you haven't been acquainted with it yet...
Yeh so that's one of the older trailers, back before they dropped the megaton. That's why it only mentions a PS3 release.
You can see the new trailer here. It's the Japanese version, so again, it says PS3 only. Do not fear, 360 owners! They just aren't releasing it on 360 in Japan. North America and Europe WILL see a 360 release, which does make sense because the 360 is pretty much nonexistant in Japan.

Promotion
Yeah, what a coincidence. We graduated on Friday the 13th. Wooo. Happy things are going to happen. Then again, we don't believe in that crap, do we? Anyways, I've got some summer classes coming up in a few weeks. Nothing much, really. My bro's over for some quick vacation time, and my grandmother's going to be here for the whole summer. Did I mention my birthday was just a few days ago? Got me some new ska, too. And some speakers.[/randomlifesummary]

Promo
So yeah, today was the big (probably not) promotion day. We're officially high-school freshi now :O
Note from Wibs: My violin solo was bloody arsefaced. Literally. :O
Oh yeah, popping back from hiatus. We'll probably go right back on hiatus after this post :D
Expect stuff once the school year starts up again though. High school is much more interesting and we'll probably have stuff to talk about.
